The Lexus IS is one of those cars that always seems to slip under the radar thanks to its highly-touted German competition. This isn’t necessarily because the IS is a poor car by any means, the love of the German driver-oriented cars is just that great. This 2007 Lexus IS 250 is quite alright with flying under the radar with its clean, aftermarket look and staggered TSW wheels. It would rather put a smile on your face slipping through the cracks, rather than be a show stopper that holds up traffic.
This 2007 Lexus IS 250 won’t blow your doors off with incredible off the line acceleration and top speed performance, but it doesn’t exactly need to. Its 205 horsepower and 186 lb-ft. of torque driving the larger rear TSW wheels is all it needs. Instead, it relies on its clean body work and more to do the dirty work.
The smooth L-finesse design language is complemented by a new Vertex Digna lip kit that includes a front lip, side skirts, and rear lip to visually lower the ride height of the Japanese premium sedan. A roof spoiler hints at some of the capabilities the IS 250 packs beneath as well. New 6000K HID low beams and AAC 10,000K halo fog lights help to give it a more JDM look and set it apart from the other Lexus IS models on the road.
The chassis is where the magic really happens. The IS 250 was equipped with a staggered set of TSW wheels that give the premium sedan a larger footprint and more powerful appearance. Up front, the TSW Snetterton wheels measure 19 x 8.5 while the rear comes in at a wider 19 x 9.5 setup. All four of the wheels are shod in Nexen 3000 high-performance directional summer tires for even more grip. The fitment is finished off with a new set of Megan LP-Series coilovers that reduce the ride height and make for a more nimble ride through the corners.
This 2007 Lexus IS 250 may not be the most conspicuous, but its clean body kit and TSW wheels make it a smooth cruiser.
