More Black styling for the Chevy Truck Range.
Chevrolet and General Motors as a whole has been pumping out quite a few special editions and appearance packages for their vehicles. The Midnight Edition models were quite popular themselves, so popular in fact that they decided to extend the offering to the 2016 Silverado 1500 Z71 and 2016 Colorado Z71 with new body coloring, off road rims and tires, and more.
“We introduced several special-edition trucks in 2015 – each combining equipment and appearance packages designed for specific enthusiasts in mind,” said Sandor Piszar, Chevrolet truck marketing director. “They clearly resonated with buyers, as the special editions sold in one-third the time, and to younger, more affluent buyers than the industry average.
“The Silverado 1500 Midnight was by far the most popular model in 2015,” Piszar continued, “as demand outstripped supply in a matter of months. It only made sense to expand our special-edition offerings for 2016, including new Midnight editions.”
The new Chevrolet Midnight Edition range now is available on the Silverado 2500 HD Z71, Silverado 1500 Z71, and Colorado Z71 for the 2016 model year, giving customers the ability to pick light-duty, mid-size, and heavy-duty trucks.
In each of the new Midnight Edition models, a full off road suspension comes standard along with the beefier off road rims and tires. A new locking rear differential, hill descent control system, and transfer case shield all work together to give the off road rims and tires maximum grip.
Visually, each of the Midnight Edition trucks gains a new all-black front fascia with black grille, bumper, headlight surrounds, tow hooks, and fog lamp surrounds. Black also adorns the side mouldings Chevy bowties on the front and rear, and the spray-on bedliner. Of course, matching the new color are black-painted off road rims and tires.
“Each special edition is tailor-made to fit a specific customer – whether you are an off-road enthusiast who wants a Colorado or a hunting enthusiast who wants a unique Silverado,” said Piszar. “In addition, each special edition is designed to attract attention at the dealership and in the customer’s driveway.”
The new Midnight Edition models are currently available for ordering as an additional package.
