Time to get rough and tumble!

At the Easter Jeep Safari in Moab, Utah, from March 28th to April 5th, there’s one common theme with all of the concept vehicles: off road ability. Everything from the off road wheels to the beefed up exterior and purposeful interior is designed to conquer anything and everything that sits in its way. The new Jeep Grand Cherokee Overlander is no different. The big SUV packs quite the all terrain punch and is designed for those looking to have an adventure on their own.

“The most enthusiastic off-roaders travel to Moab each year for this premier event, making Easter Jeep Safari the perfect place to showcase Jeep Performance Parts,” said Pietro Gorlier, President and CEO – Mopar Brand Service, Parts and Customer Care. “Jeep owners are passionate about their vehicles and Mopar, with Jeep Authentic Accessories and Jeep Performance Parts, offers a full-line of products for them to express this passion through customization, making sure there is no other vehicle like theirs on the road.”

The new Jeep Grand Cherokee Overlander concept vehicle was designed to be more rugged and rough while accommodating those looking for adventure away from home. From the new off road wheels to the camping tent sitting on top of the rood, the new concept is sure to please.

Covering the entire body save for the roof, wheel arches, and lower body work is a Sage Green paint. A special one-off front fascia instantly differentiates it from other Grand Cherokee models with its yellow laminated lights and integrated tow hooks and winch. Larger fender flares allow for the new off road wheels to have more space to operate, and are connected by new rock rails. A new SRT hood and taillights add a more powerful touch to the SUV concept. New skid plates also sit at the front and rear and protect the underbody during tough travel.

Jeep also made their concept more accommodating by installing a spray-in truck bedliner coating on the roof along with a two-person hard-shell rooftop tent that can be deployed for a pair of campers.

Powering the new Jeep Grand Cherokee Overlander concept vehicle is the brand’s 3.0-liter turbodiesel V-6 engine with 240 horsepower and 420 lb-ft. of torque paired with a Torqueflight eight-speed automatic transmission. All that power reaches the ground thanks to a new set of 18-inch off road wheels wearing BF Goodrich all-terrain T/A tires.

Unfortunately, the Jeep Grand Cherokee Overlander is just a concept vehicle and won’t be built for the public.
