The American sports and muscle car marketplace has been dominated by big, gas-guzzling rear-wheel drive sedans and coupes for decades. These cars were basic, straightforward machines that utilized big-displacement engines to propel them to triple-digit speeds and roar with power. That same, simple formula for muscle car performance has faded away in recent years, but Chrysler offers it up with some luxury to boot in the 300 SRT-8. This featured Chrysler 300 SRT-8 has that same straightforward performance formula and the added benefit of the wide range of aftermarket staggered wheel and tire packages thanks to some stunning new KMC wheels.
Performance is really quite simple in the Chrysler 300 SRT-8. A large 6.1-liter naturally-aspirated V-8 HEMI engine sits beneath the hood and produces a whopping 425 horsepower at 6,100 RPM and 420 lb-ft. of torque at 4,800 RPM, sending that all to the various aftermarket staggered wheel and tire packages. That’s good enough to send this 300 SRT-8 equipped with KMC wheels to 60 mph in just 4.9 seconds and achieve a 12.67-second at 110.51 mph run through the quarter-mile.
In order to put all that power down in style, many turn to the wide range of aftermarket staggered wheel and tires packages. One of the more popular ones as seen on this first-generation Chrysler 300 SRT-8 utilizes the 701 model KMC wheels. The creamy white 300 SRT-8 ditched its factory set of rims for the new staggered wheel and tire packages in order to emphasize the rear-wheel drive layout and the vast amount of power being sent to the rear wheels.
This Chrysler 300 SRT-8 wears the staggered KMC wheels in a wide 22 x 9.5 front and 22 x 11.0 rear setup. They’re wide right where they need to be and are fitted with Dunlop Sport Maxx 265/35/22 front and 305/30/22 rear tires. To complete the fitment, new Peddler lowering springs and a set of rear Bilstein shocks to create the optimum ride setup and improve the overall handling characteristics of the big, muscular American luxury sedan.
