Celebrating sales.
Since it first went on sale in October 2014 as a 2015 model-year truck, the Chevrolet Colorado has reached over 428,792 sales. To celebrate the mid-size truck and its sales success, Chevrolet has unveiled two new special edition models for the street and off-road that feature new accessories, custom wheels, and more.
“The success of Colorado helped reignite the midsize truck segment, which increased 27 percent from 2015 to 2017,” said Sandor Piszar, director of Marketing for Chevrolet Trucks. “It changed what customers expected from a midsize truck, brought new customers to Chevrolet and has inspired competitors to follow Chevy’s lead.”
Since its inception, the Colorado has helped propel GM into being the most successful truck company for four consecutive years with a total of 634,505 trucks sold. That is cause for celebration and the new Chevrolet Colorado Z71 Trail Runner and Colorado RST are ready to kick things off with their custom wheels.
The new Chevrolet Colorado Z71 Trail Runner is based on a Colorado with the Z71 package with the addition of the underbody protection from the ZR2. Stamped aluminum front and mid skid plates are used in conjunction with new functional rocker panels. Hitting the dirt are new Goodyear Duratrac tires wrapped around a new set of custom wheels.
The new Chevrolet Colorado RST is based on the LT model and features a monochromatic exterior offset with Black beltline and body mouldings. A Black bowtie badge sits up front and matches the Colorado and RST badges throughout. The RST model is also the first Colorado to feature 20-inch custom wheels, each of which is finished in a low-gloss Black color.
Both the Colorado Z71 Trail Runner and RST models will also boast the new flow-through ‘CHEVROLET’ grille found on the ZR2 Bison model.
Both models are currently available for order from Chevrolet dealerships.
