Chevrolet has some fun with their newest truck.

The mid-size truck segment is often overlooked as the automakers slug it out in the full-size segment with their best and most capable technology and products. The new Chevrolet Colorado, however, is looking to make some waves with its capabilities, technology, and drivability with its efficient engines and towing capacity. Chevrolet was at the Texas State Fair showing off their latest 2015 Colorado Sport Concept that takes the lifestyle aspect of the truck to a new level with new accessory system, upgrades, and off road wheels.

The new 2015 Colorado Sport Concept was shown at the Texas State Fair filled with a pair of mountain bikes, enough gear to last for a weekend, and a new set of concept off road wheels to emphasize the capabilities and practicality of the mid-size truck.

“It’s not just mountain bikes, but just about any passion you can name, from kayaking, fishing, dirt bikes and more,” said Tony Johnson, Colorado marketing manager. “It’s a truck for those who need the versatility of a pickup to support their work and lifestyle interests, but don’t need a full-size truck to do it.”

Two different engines will be powering either all four or the two rear off road wheels of the Chevrolet Colorado. The base engine will be a 2.5-liter four cylinder while a larger 3.6-liter V-6 will be optional. The V-6 is the segment’s most efficient, boasting an EPA-estimated 27 MPG, highway, while also producing 305 horsepower and garnering the segment’s highest trailering rating at 7,000 lbs. All of this comes packed with technology normally found in Chevy’s crossovers such as MyLink with 4G LTE Wi-Fi hotspot, Lane Departure Warning, and Forward Collision Alert.
