Adding some adrenaline to the lineup.
Chevrolet is adding a dose of customization to their lineup with the new Redline special edition models. After making its debut in concept form at the 2015 SEMA Show, the new special edition styling package with everything from custom wheels to body work is being introduced at the 2016 Chicago Auto Show.
“Redline is another example of Chevrolet bringing SEMA concepts to showrooms,” said Brian Sweeney, U.S. vice president of Chevrolet. “The SEMA show has proven to be a great way to identify customization trends in the industry, and quickly apply those trends to our most popular Chevrolet models. Based on the strong interest Redline attracted at the show, we believe they will be very popular with customers looking for standout cars, trucks, and crossovers.”
In total, nine vehicles in Chevrolet’s lineup will have the new Redline special edition upgrade. The Cruze LT, Malibu LT, Camaro LT/SS, Trax LT, Equinox LT, Traverse Premier, Colorado LT, and Silverado Double-Cab LT Z71 and Crew Cab LTZ Z71 will all benefit from the new custom wheels, body work, and more.
“Our special edition lineup has been popular with customers and dealers, alike” said Sweeney. “Since the introduction of special editions on vehicles the like Silverado and Camaro, vehicle average transaction prices have increased, time to turn has decreased, and conquest rates have risen, which has contributed to making Chevrolet the fastest-growing brand in the industry two years in a row.”
The new Redline package offers quite a bit more presence and style compared to the standard model. New custom wheels are finished in black and feature a pair of red stripes. The nameplates on each vehicle are black with red outlines while the grille and Chevrolet bowties are in all-black.
In addition to the standard updates, specific vehicles will also boast unique styling. The Silverado and Colorado Redline models will have red tow hooks while the Camaro Redline sports a set of black hash marks above the custom wheels.
The first Redline model available is the Chevrolet Silverado, which can be ordered currently. Other Redline vehicles will be available at a later date with all models being on sale by the end of 2017.
