Celebrating the 30th Birthday.
Thirty years ago, the BMW M3 first hit the scene and made waves throughout the automotive world thanks to its fantastic driving characteristics. It brought DTM racing and motorsport technology to the street. Today, it’s still looked at as the benchmark for sports sedans around the world. To celebrate the 30th anniversary of the model, BMW has unveiled a limited run of M3 “30 Years M3” models that features a bump in power, forged car rims, and more.
The entire BMW M3 “30 Years M3” is dressed in Macao Blue metallic paint just like the original model did when equipped with the optional paint. Special standard features for the “30 Years M3” such as the Individual High Gloss Shadow Line, black chrome tailpipe trim, and unique M gills in the front fenders with the special logos for the model to complement the new car rims.
Under the hood, the 3.0-liter turbocharged inline six cylinder engine gets a power boost to 450 horsepower shooting through the seven-speed dual clutch gearbox to the rear car rims. Dynamics are further enhanced with the addition of the Competition Package as standard that includes items such as an Active M differential at the rear, Dynamic Stability Control, new springs, dampers, and more. This allows the sports car to reach 62 mph from rest in just 4.0 seconds flat.
Under the bodywork sits a new set of forged car rims. The M lightweight forged alloy wheels feature a 666 M star design that instantly sets it apart from the pack. The new wheels are also shod in 265/30 R20 and 285/30 R20 performance tires for added grip.
Inside of the BMW Me “30 Years M3” is a pair of M sports seats with more supportive bolsters and BMW M logos woven in the belts. In the headrests, “30 Years M3” is embroidered as well to further distinguish it. A serial numbered carbon fiber plaque is shown across the passenger’s side of the dashboard. Customers will be able to choose from either a Black and Fjord Blue or Black and Silverstone color combo.
The new BMW M3 “30 Years M3” will be available this summer and limited to just 500 units globally.
