The Pontiac G8 was a car that brought the classic muscle sedan platform back to the mainstream lineup. It had a big, burly V-8 engine, lots of power, four doors, and a rear-wheel drive layout with sporty dynamics. It was perfect, aside from the lackluster sales and General Motor’s financial troubles. Pontiac was eventually killed off but the G8 still survives thanks to cars such as this GXP model with TSW Wheels, exhaust system, and other goodies.
The Pontiac G8 GXP was a serious four-door muscle car that had the LS3 engine from the Corvette. Its power and performance could easily put a smile on anyone’s face, with 415 horsepower and 415 lb-ft. of torque being sent to the rear wheels in stock form. This 2009 G8 GXP benefits from a new Livernois 2C cam and tune setup under the hood along with new Magnaflow exhaust for a total of 434 horsepower and 407 lb-ft. of torque measured at the rear TSW Wheels.
That’s some serious power and not something that ordinary wheels can handle. That’s why this owner went with a set of custom-tailored TSW Wheels. The TSW Nurburgring rims originally measured 20 x 8.5 but were extended and refinished to measure an impressive 20 x 10.0 +62 offset at the front and rear axles. The wider TSW Wheels give the muscle car more than enough of a footprint to lay down the power. Each Nurburgring wheel also sports a vibrant polished finish to grab attention.
The chassis also underwent a few nip and tucks on this G8 GXP. The V-8 muscle car received a new set of coilovers that reduce the ride height and provide more dynamic handling. They also allow the new set of TSW Wheels to sit snug inside of the fenders.
While Pontiac is no longer a brand, the legacy of their last muscle car will live on thanks to cars like this.
