Dirt, mud, and rock beware. There’s a 2012 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited out there with XD Rockstar wheels and off road tires that is looking to eat you up. The already proficient Jeep Wrangler and its powerful V-6, coupled with a robust four-wheel drive system gets even better with these and other new modifications that are ready to take on anything.
For the 2012-model year, the Jeep Wrangler received quite a few updates. One of the bigger updates came in the form of a new Petastar 3.6-liter V-6 engine that is more powerful and efficient than the unit it replaced. The 3.6-liter, naturally-aspirated V-6 engine sends a brawny 285 horsepower and 265 lb-ft. of torque to each of the XD Rockstar wheels and their Nitto Mud Grappler tires while returning a factory-rated 17 mpg city, 21 mpg highway.
Armed with the muscular V-6 from the factory, the 2012 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited was modified with some new all-terrain goodies to make handling the harsh elements a breeze. The entire body was lifted by 1.0-inch and the suspension by 2.5-inches for greater clearance while new 5.13 gears were installed. Inside those spacious wheel arches are new black-finished XD Rockstar wheels that wear 37-inch Nitto Mud Grappler tires that are more than capable of grabbing onto any terrain that dares stand in its path.
The newly-revised powertrain and new list of upgrades on this 2012 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited make for quite the powerful off road machine. So, all you nasty terrain out there better watch out for a Jeep Wrangler and its XD Rockstar wheels with Nitto Mud Grappler tires. Oh, and just in case there is a flat, there’s an extra Rockstar mounted on the back.
