Turbo time!

The Ford F-150 has been the staple for work trucks in the American market for decades as it has battled the Silverado and Ram. To get ahead of the game, they developed a new EcoBoost V-6 engine that utilizes two turbochargers to create even more power and put them ahead of the game. This 2012 Ford F-150 with Worx Wheels, tuned V-6 engine, and styling upgrades is definitely at the forefront of the competitive truck market and will likely stay there for some time.

The new 3.5-liter twin-turbocharged V-6 EcoBoost engine is worthy in its own right as it offers up some torque-filled power with better fuel efficiency than the standard V-8 engines normally found in trucks. With 365 horsepower at 5,000 RPM and 420 lb-ft. at 2,500 RPM being sent to all four Ford F-150 wheels, there’s plenty of get-up-and-tow available throughout the rev range. That wasn’t enough for this owner of a 2012 F-150 who wanted even more power reaching the new Worx Wheels. The 3.5-liter was equipped with a new Injen intake system, NX menthanol/water injection setup, AFE charge pipe, and superchips vivid ling tuning module. That’s all paired up with a Solo exhaust system with high-flow downpipe and dual exhaust tips. That equates to a thunderous amount of low-end torque and some fun horsepower as the RPMs rise.

With a more potent engine hiding beneath the hood, the look of the truck had to change to reflect its performance. The factory Ford F-150 wheels were removed and a new set of tougher Worx Wheels. The Worx alloy 803 beast wheels provide a durable option for the hardcore truck and are fitted with 33 x 12.5 Toyo Open Country MT tires. The new Worx Wheels fitment is finished off with a new Rough Country 2.5-inch suspension level system.

To give the truck that more powerful look and reflect its torque engine are some new exterior upgrades. Besides the new Ford F-150 wheels, the truck was outfitted with a new light bar with six-inch KC Lights and HID headlights to stare ahead. New GoRhino! Dominator III running boards add to the overall durable look.
