Friggin’ sweet.

Porsche started off July with a huge bang. They unveiled the new 2018 Porsche 911 GT2 RS – the most powerful and fastest street-legal 911 ever made. It’s absolutely bonkers and takes performance to the extreme. Tires and wheels will have a tough time handling it, and it was shown at the 2017 Goodwood Festival of Speed.

The Porsche 911 GT2 is powered by a twin-turbocharged flat-six engine at the rear that produces an incredible 700 horsepower and 553 lb-ft. of torque. When the tires and wheels get grip, it can reach 62 mph from rest in just 2.7 seconds and reach a top speed of 211 mph. That’s insane.

At the 2017 Goodwood Festival of Speed, it was put on display for spectators to check out and also run up the hill. The most notable moment up the hill was when the driver attempted to do a donut in the pull-off area, only to have the electronics negate any attempt in front of the large crowd. But, that didn’t stop the Porsche 911 GT2 RS from shredding some tires and wheels!

Thankfully, the Goodwood Festival of Speed is a jam-packed weekend of fun where super cars and sports cars can race and have some fun themselves. As part of the track, there’s an area specially designed for burnouts and donuts. The Porsche 911 GT2 RS of course, made up for its earlier mistake, and let its 700-horsepower engine go to town on the rear tires and wheels, making quite a bit of smoke in the process.
