Watch the KAMAZ Dakar Truck Run Goodwood with its Truck Wheels

KAMAZ Dakar Goodwood Festival of Speed

An utter brute.

The Goodwood Festival of Speed is an annual hill climb event that draws iconic, new, classic, hardcore, and unique vehicles from all across the world. These vehicles put on a show for spectators and/or push up the hill to get the best time. One of the crazier vehicles to do the event is the KAMAZ Dakar truck and its monster truck wheels.

The KAMAZ Dakar truck racers are built for off road performance and they’re some of the most brutally fun vehicles to watch compete. These massive machines pound all sorts of terrain with their truck wheels as they race to get from point-A to point-B in the fastest time possible.

This KAMAZ Dakar truck boasts a thundering turbodiesel V-8 engine that churns out 730 horsepower and sends it to the truck wheels via a 16-speed ZF transmission.

Despite their weight, size, and high center of gravity, they’re actually quite competent racers with skilled and knowledgeable drivers piloting them.

At the Goodwood Festival of Speed, this KAMAZ Dakar racer was piloted by Airat Mardeev and took to the hillclimb in the qualifying round. The beast put its truck wheels on the pavement and grass as it sped through the twists and turns with its intimidating size. Despite the unlikely design of this racer, it finished the run quite quickly.
