Quite the hillclimb stunt.
The annual Goodwood Festival of Speed is one of the greatest automotive events for car enthusiasts in the world. If you ever get a chance to attend, don’t hesitate at all. At the hillclimb, there’s an incredible variety of vehicles from all time periods and all racing series, including factory, road-going models. Some, like Terry Grant, are there to entertain the crowd with their tires and wheels.
Stunt driver, Terry Grant, knows a thing or two about entertaining fans, and did so by putting on a crazy show at the 2017 Goodwood Festival of Speed. In a Monster Energy Range Rover, he got the SUV to go up on two tires and wheels to drive the hillclimb course.
With the crowd going crazy for the stunt, one of the stuntment got out of the SUV and onto the side/roof while Grant was piloting it on two tires and wheels. Thankfully, they didn’t fall and hopped back in.
Because of how many turns there are on the hillclimb course, it was almost impossible to keep the SUV planted on two wheels, so halfway through, Grant plopped it back down to earth. Then, he put down the throttle for the supercharged 5.0-liter V-8 engine and did some smokey burnouts and donuts for the crowd.
After each run on two tires and wheels, Grant has to swap them out for new ones due to the fact that the tires are not designed to run on the sidewall.
Still, it’s worth it.
