Going back to the good times.

While many of the Jeep models that were traversing the tough trails at the 50th Easter Jeep Safari in Moab, Utah, one concept vehicle was showing off the brand’s heritage with price. The Jeep FC 150 might not be the prettiest, but it has all the capability you’d want and expect from a Jeep thanks to new off road wheels and tires, suspension, and more.

“Every year, the Jeep team looks forward to pushing the limits with new, exciting and capable concept vehicles for our most loyal enthusiasts at the Easter Jeep Safari in Moab, where we receive a tremendous amount of valuable feedback,” said Mike Manley, Head of Jeep Brand – FCA Global. “This year is extra special, as together with our biggest fans, we celebrate Jeep’s 75th anniversary, as well as the 50th running of the Jeep Safari. We’re delighted to share seven of the most capable and eye-catching concept Jeep vehicles we’ve ever created at this year’s historic event.”

This Jeep team and its experienced craftsman and designers created the FC 150 concept using many old parts along with a host of new ones. Based on the CJ-5, the Jeep FC 150 was built between 1956 and 1965, and provides capability and all-terrain performance and maneuverability. This model features all the worn body panels from a classic model along with new, modern upgrades from the off road wheels and tires to the interior.

The Jeep FC 150 concept that made its debut at the Easter Jeep Safari featured an original steel body complete with wear and tear mated to a 2005 Jeep Wrangler chassis. The chassis was thoroughly upgraded to accommodate a Dana 44 front and Dana 60 rear axle setup. Those are mated to new off road wheels and tires that measure 17 inches with BFGoodrich Mud Terrain T/A KM2 rubber.

Providing thrust to all four of the new white-finished steel off road wheels and tires is a 4.0-liter PowerTech inline-six engine and a three-speed automatic gearbox.

Inside, the classic refinements are abundant. The Jeep FC 150 concept sports vinyl seat covers with a custom vintage duck hunting headliner pattern and MOPAR all-weather floor mats. A CB radio and analog compass give it even more old-school flavor and practicality.
