Spring is a wonderful time for Jeep and off-road enthusiasts alike. From March 28th to April 5th in Moab, Utah, the Easter Jeep Safari event will take place where enthusiasts gather to enjoy the craft. For the 49th annual event, the brand has created seven new concept vehicles. The new Jeep Staff Car salutes the brand’s military service vehicles that put the automaker on the map. The minimalistic concept car wears a Sandstorm paint, basic steel Jeep wheels, no B-pillar, and no doors. It’s purposeful and a brilliant salute to their military vehicles of the past.

“Jeep is proud to be taking seven new eye-catching and extremely capable vehicles to the Easter Jeep Safari, where we expect to delight our most loyal enthusiasts,” said Mike Manley, President and CEO – Jeep Brand. “We go to this legendary event each year to showcase our latest Jeep production vehicles, as well as a variety of new ideas in our concept vehicles. In doing so, we receive a tremendous amount of valuable feedback, while interacting with our customers in the Jeep brand’s natural environment. We’re especially looking forward to this year’s Jeep Safari, as Renegade makes its official public debut on Moab’s demanding trails.”

A small team of engineers, designers, and fabricators were tasked with making the new Staff Car as well as the other concept vehicles on display at the event. The new Staff Car concept vehicle is based on the Wrangler four-door, with a classic military look and feel. Everything from the Jeep wheels to the bench seats pays homage to the old military vehicles.

To start things off, the Jeep Staff Car concept has no B-pillar or doors. Sandstorm paint is worn by the Jeep wheels, body, frame, and axles. Function is the name of the game here, as minimalist fender flares, bench seats, and the “hungry horse” canvas roof that can easily be retracted and stowed all serve a purpose.

Vintage-designed Jeep J8 front and rear bumpers are matched up with military-style round headlights and fender-mounted blackout lamp guards. At the rear sits a spare wheel along with an old military fuel canister like the classic models. Special 16-inch Jeep wheels with hardcore 35-inch Firestone NDT military tires make contact with the dirt below.

Powering the new Jeep Staff Car is the Pentastar 3.6-liter V-6 engine paired up with a six-speed manual transmission protruding from the floor. Power is sent to the dual Dana 44 axles while a Jeep Performance Parts 2.0-inch lift kit gives the Jeep wheels some extra room to maneuver vertically.

The open-air cabin of the Jeep Staff Car concept sports low-backed bench seats in the front and rear for easy accessibility. An integrated roll cage protects passengers in case of a roll-over accident. Packed inside is a classic-styled cooler designed after an old artillery box that can hold up to 85 cans.

Unfortunately, the Jeep Staff Car is just a concept for the Easter Jeep Safari event in Moab, Utah.
