It’s time to farm in style.
The backbone of America is its farmers and agricultural industry. Without food, nobody eats, and RAM is celebrating that with a new model for farm families. Called the RAM Harvest Edition, the new truck is the industry’s first agricultural market-specific truck and has all sorts of upgrades from new colors and chrome wheels to beefy hardware and electronics.
“The Ram Harvest Edition marks the first time that Ram dealers will be able to stock trucks that exactly match the colors of two of the most popular lines of farm equipment in the nation,” said Mike Manley, Head of Jeep & Ram Brands – FCA Global. “Farmers have been asking for these colors, and Ram is proud to be the first in the industry to be able to offer them. The Ram Harvest Edition truck will allow farm families to get their work done while proudly showing their agricultural brand loyalty.”
The new RAM Harvest Edition models will be available on all RAM 1500, 2500, and 3500 models with different cab configurations, box lengths, and doors. It doesn’t matter how many of the chrome wheels you want driven or the engine driving them either; all of the configurations are available.
Two of the main colors featured on the new RAM Harvest Edition trucks are Case IH Red and New Holland Blue. Both farm tractors and other heavy duty agricultural equipment and are manufactured under CNH Industrial N.V. and share a similar ancestry with Fiat Chrysler Automobiles N.V.
The new Harvest Edition models are made for work on the farm as well. RAM 1500 Harvest Edition models benefit from a one-inch ride height increase as well as new, more aggressive on-off road tires wrapped around their chrome wheels. New black tubular side steps, a spray-in bedliner, fold-out bumper step and mud flaps, rubber interior mats, skid plates, tow hooks on the 4×4 models, and more come standard.
Inside, tech is a centerpiece. An 8.4-inch Uconnect 4C touchscreen radio with navigation comes with all the goodies and provides real-time weather forecasts. A cargo-view camera also comes stanrard on RAM Heavy Duty models.
Visually, the new RAM Harvest Edition models feature a lot of highlights. A chrome “Wave Mesh” grille sits up front along with brighter front and rear bumpers. New 17-inch chrome wheels (18-inch on Heavy Duty) also come standard with matching chrome mirrors, door handles, and dual exhaust pipes. Body-color or Bright Silver wheel flares and upper fascia are featured on 1500 models.
The new RAM Harvest Edition models will also be available in Bright White or Brilliant Black Monotone colors along with two-tone and Bright Silver color schemes.
The new RAM 1500 Harvest Edition model will start at $39,910 MSRP plus a $1395 destination charge while Heavy Duty models are priced at $36,235 MSRP. The new models will go on sale in the third quarter of 2017.
