Yeah, sorry to burst that bubble of hope that the United States is going to be getting another badass truck to drive the hell out of off road, but the new Ford Ranger Raptor is just too good to pass up. This more hardcore machine will be right at home in the outback, but we need those truck wheels in our garage!
So, why is this news considering that we have the bigger, more powerful, and hardcore Ford F150 Raptor here? Well, think of the upcoming Ford Ranger Raptor as a smaller, more quick and nimble vehicle that’s just as eager to get its truck wheels dirty.
As of now, nothing at all has been revealed about the new Ford Ranger Raptor save for this teaser video where the entire vehicle is draped in camouflage. What we can see, however, is that it’s going to be freaking awesome off road and just as fun on the road as well.
The same 3.5-liter EcoBoost V-6 engine probably won’t be powering the truck wheels on the Range Raptor like its larger sibling, the F-150 Raptor. It will likely have the twin-turbocharged EcoBoost 2.7-liter V-6 engine with some serious modifications to generate more power.
In addition to the new powertrain, you can expect the chassis will be designed to get those truck wheels dirty. Knowledge gained from racing at Baja and other series will be injected into the suspension from the shocks on out, resulting in a truck that loves to drive in the wilderness.
Not, just bring it to the United States when it comes in 2018.
