There’s a lot to like about the RAM 1500 Rebel. It’s built to go off-road and is nothing short of a beast in this realm. It’s confident, imposing, and powerful, and now it’s getting even meaner with the new RAM 1500 Rebel “Black” making its debut at the 2017 North American International Auto Show. The new special edition has black truck rims, black design upgrades, and darker interior touches.
The new RAM 1500 Rebel Black special edition takes the popular off-road truck to a new level of imposing looks. Black truck rims and new body work instantly create a mud-eating threat. All of the available colors for the Rebel are available on the new upgrade package, giving an added touch of individuality for the monster.
“Adding the Rebel Black package to an already aggressive off-road truck will continue feeding the momentum Rebel is creating for the Ram Truck brand,” said Mike Manley, Head of Jeep Brand and Ram Brand, FCA – Global. “The Ram Rebel is unique in the full-size truck segment with 33-inch off-road tires, air suspension and custom interior details.”
Visually, the exterior of the new RAM 1500 Rebel Black has a black brush guard that either matches or contrasts the body, depending on the factory color selected. A new set of black truck rims wearing 33-inch all-terrain tires stand out even more for a powerful design statement. New Bilstein shocks and an exclusive air-suspension system provide increased ride height to overcome larger off-road obstacles.
Driving all of the new black truck rims on the RAM 1500 Rebel Black is a choice of the 305 horsepower 3.6-liter Pentastar V-6 engine or the 395 horsepower 5.7-liter HEMI V-8 engine. Both motors are mated to a TorqueFlite eight-speed gearbox and can drive either the rear or all four wheels if needed.
Inside, the new special edition model gains a set of all-black heated seats with Light Slate Grey accent stitching and black “Rebel” embroidery. The Light Slate Grey accents are also found on the instrument panel, center console, and doors. Black anodized bezels are featured on the doors, center console, instrument panel, and decorate the rings on the gauge cluster. New rubber floor mats provide an extra layer of protection and scoop up whatever is stuck on the boots of occupants. As an option, Black leather Katzkin seats can be added.
The new RAM 1500 Rebel Black special edition will start at $45,590 plus $1,320 destination, with deliveries starting in March.
