Makin’ it happen with the mid-size truck.
The Toyota Tacoma has become an unbreakable thing of legend (that is, unless you’re rust on a late-year model’s frame). There’s also the famous Top Gear UK scene where the Hilux (European) version is put through every kind of hell then submerged in high tide only to start up and run again. It’s a pretty resilient mid-size truck but when it’s armed with Helo Wheels and other off road goodies, it gets even better.
This 2010 Toyota Tacoma may not be the fanciest or heaviest-duty truck out there, but it definitely gets the job done in more ways than one from its Helo Wheels on up to its Smittybilt light bar, inside and out.
The main are where this Toyota Tacoma really shines is its chassis. Here, a new Revtek 3.0-inch lift gives greater clearance and suspension travel so that the mid-size truck can overcome larger off road obstacles easier without damaging the undercarriage. The factory rim and tire setup was also swapped out for a new set of Helo Wheels that have a better style and the off road pedigree. Helo Duratrac wheels measuring 17 x 9.0 at the front and rear are also equipped with 285/70/17 off road tires that are more proficient in the art of clawing away at dirt, mud, and snow.
The styling wasn’t finished there, however. The entire tailgate was debadged for a clean look with a decal-free OEM bed mat and Raider Lorider Elite Tonneau cover that sits atop. A Smittybilt light bar and KC Slimlits lights helps provide more than enough light while stuck on the trails at night.
Under the hood, more power is able to reach the Helo Wheels thanks to a new K&N 63-9025 intake that helps get the air flowing in and a new AT252XL exhaust gets the gasses out quicker with a more aggressive rumble.
Inside, this 2010 Toyota Tacoma was given a boost in entertainment and off road ability. A Pioneer PB3300 BT in-dash DVD receiver adds to the overall driving enjoyment while WeatherTech Digifits floor mats keep things clean on those muddy days.
The Toyota Tacoma may not be a big, bad truck, but it does things right.
